Never go without a guide

I’m in the business, for heaven’s sake.

But, leading-edge neuroscience tells us that no matter how much time one spends under the hood, we’re not accessing even half of what we think we are.

This only matters if you want to create your life on purpose rather than by accident.

This is edgy, but it's true: If you listen to yourself for an hour (and you’re being honest), you’ll see that you talk out of two sides of your mouth.

How do I know? Because I listen for a living. See if the examples below resonate with you.

Here’s a tune I hear often: “I want to be valued [..insert very short instrumental…]

I hate selfish people that’s why I can’t stand talking about myself.”

May I ask… how the F will you receive validation when you avoid being heard?

It’s illogical, which is fine because we are not logical beings, but let’s call a spade a spade.

And it’s not just what we say. It’s what we do. Maybe you want to be the best in your craft, but you curl up into the fetal position with every perceived "failure."

I've done that more than I care to recount, but expecting to expand professionally when Imposter Syndrome runs the show is like expecting to win a marathon hog-tied.

Finally, I regularly see women who wear self-sufficiency like a badge of honor in one breath and complain about how no one ever takes care of them in the next.

Um… I think I have an idea why and I’m not even that smart. (BTW - this one is why I always act helpless in my household).

This is why I rarely go without a guide. I want to be called out when my behavior doesn’t match my intention.

It’s not fun to be held accountable when my argumentative part gets in the way of my intention to have peace or when my self-absorbed part gets in the way of my intention to be present.

We all have yes-and-no parts of our personality. People and life circumstances are made up of 50% positive and 50 % negative—it's Quantum Physics 101.

There are no good or bad people or circumstances. There is only what is.

I assure you that wiring this principle into your brain and awakening to your own duplicity (not to mention that of others) is the road to freedom. It can heal your body and mind, relationships and business, not to mention the nation and planet.

If you want to uncover the parts of yourself that keep you from having what you want, FIND A GUIDE. No one knows it all, and there is no such thing as "evolved." The best we hope for is "evolving."

I guarantee you are more than you think, deserve more than you have, and can't see the quickest road to get out of your own way.
